If Mexican drug violence spills across the U.S. border, Homeland Security officials say they have a contingency plan to assist border areas that includes bringing in the military.
“It’s a common sense extension of our continued work with our state, local, and tribal partners in securing the southwest border,†DHS spokeswoman Amy Kudwa said Friday.
That is nice to know. Too bad they’re about three decades too late.
How about if these DHS dweebies take a serious look into these freaks while they’re at it
An animal rights group has claimed that it has sent letter bombs to two University of California, Davis researchers, the school said.
The UC Davis Police Department, Davis Police Department and other agencies are investigating the claim, and no suspicious packages have yet been detected.
The claim was made late on Saturday in a posting on an activist Web site, but the group was not named by authorities. Police notified the two researchers named in the posting — both who are affiliated with the California National Primate Research Center — early on Sunday morning.
They might as well start now, seeing as how by the time they figure out a “Plan” we’ll be in the same boat as Canada.
The tony Canadian home of a former oil industry executive was fire-bombed during the weekend, authorities said.
Jim Carter, who was away with his wife when their house in Edmonton was destroyed, said he was “quite bewildered,” to learn Molotov cocktails had been tossed against his house Saturday, the Edmonton Journal reported Monday.
Carter was president and chief operating officer of Syncrude Canada, an oil sands operation, until 2007. The arson follows recent bomb attacks against oil and gas equipment in British Columbia, although authorities had no evidence tying the incidents together, the newspaper said.
No one was hurt in the weekend blaze but the damage was estimated at $850,000.
Because Canada hasn’t had time to think up a “Plan”.

The various Feds are definitely keeping an eye on the environmentalist fringe groups. A few years back, when I was working for a security contractor, I attended a presentation concerning terrorist threats that was put on by local police, FBI, etc. They actually identified ALF/ELF as one of their top domestic terror groups.
Well, I wonder if now that Team Obama is in charge of the Justice League…er, Department, the shift will go from watching enviromentalist fringe groups to watching fringe groups that are “right wing” like they did back in the 90’s with the Clintons.
