So, I’m noticing that the book you’re describing JUST CAME OUT on September 17, 2008.
Usually, it takes anywhere from a week (if you’re lucky!) to a few months (the usual) for Acquisitions to order and receive new books.
Then you have to factor in that the item must be cataloged and physically processed before it even gets placed on the library shelves.
I’m not trying to knock you down, I love your blog. But the fact of the matter is a library will buy items that support it’s collection development policies. That may (or may not) include “Heller case”.
Happy reading!
P.S. If you DO want your library to purchase an item that it doesn’t currently own, most libraries have forms to fill out that are specifically for requesting new materials. Fill one out, get your neighbors to fill one out, your kids, your spouse, etc. You’ll see the things you want flying onto the selves in no time.
