In case you missed it

Boomershoot opened up for registration yesterday.

As you may have noticed from David’s post yesterday, he has been working the email mojo and has gotten five new shooters (and bloggers) to sign up for the event.

As of 09:41AM this morning, there were only seven positions left, so if’n you were wanting to attend, now would probably be the best time to hit that link and register. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it one more time for those who are hard of reading:

Premier Long Distance Rifle Event in the Pacific NW. Hands down. No BS.

You can’t not have a good time at Boomershoot. Well, OK, you can. But it would be entirely because of your own stupidity.

But enough of me yakking about it, Joe posted links to more pics taken by blogger Triggerfinger, who was also at Boomershoot 2009. Here are some gorgeous snow filled pics of his drive from Boise to Orofino. Remember, this was in late April, when snow is not normal. We can only assume that AlGore was nearby.

Here is a pic of the 2008 fireball. And here are pics of the 2007 fireball. Boomershoot assistant co-host, Ry, says to bring nomex in 2009.

Lastly, to give you some perspective as to the scenery, Triggerfinger posts a pic from his shooting position here. The top of the snow patch on the hillside is just under 600 yards.

As part of the shooting position confirmation package, Joe includes pics taken from your selected shooting position.

This is what I will be looking at come April 24th through the 26th (and the Bloggers Only day of the 23rd as well)

And of course, the majority of us will be staying at the most excellent lodging in Orofino, Trib’s Place, during our stay. In fact, The Wife and I will be staying with Bob and Kenda for a night this summer on our 700 Mile Mosey to Montana via Hwy 12 this summer.

If you can’t make it to Boomershoot 2009, position your thumb and forefinger perpendicular to one another and place the back of your hand on your forehead. Do this once a day for the next week while you ponder how you’re going to get to Boomershoot 2010.

We’ll miss you though.

you wouldn’t happen to know if anybody’s holding a Boomershoot in the SouthEast, would you? *grin*

I’ve got lots of boomers, just no long-range land opportunities…

  2. Joe Huffman says:

If you can find a safe range, some people to help with the check in and range officer chores and $20K then we can bring a Boomershoot to you. Think of that $20K as 100 people with $200 each.

You may think you have “lots of boomers” but at Boomershoot 2008 we went through nearly a ton of explosives and over 1100 targets. Boomershoot 2009 will have more.

    *sigh*

    ’10… maybe.
