Buh-Bye, Bri

So long. Hope you learned something.

In the end, the 250 letters of support, an impassioned plea by her mother and Briana Waters’ own tears did not spare her from prison for her role in the 2001 arson of the University of Washington’s Center for Urban Horticulture.

The 32-year-old Californian was sentenced Thursday to six years in federal prison and ordered to pay $6 million in restitution by U.S. District Court Judge Franklin Burgess, who also declined her lawyer’s request that Waters be released on her own recognizance pending appeal.

The six years is kind of wuss, but I do like the $6 Million in restitution.

Any takers on a bet that her little ALF/ELF friends forget that her family is going to be in debt for the rest of their lives and don’t give them a dime?

Like these little ungrateful pricks

An unoccupied van of the University of California at Los Angeles was torched last week, and the Animal Liberation Front has claimed responsibility, blaming researchers for necessitating the attach. Groups opposed to any animal research have made UCLA a target, and many researchers have experienced vandalism, picketing and harassment on and off campus. Gene Block, UCLA’s chancellor, issued a statement in which he said: “I am deeply disturbed that, yet again, extremists have resorted to acts of violence in an attempt to achieve their goal to end all laboratory research involving animals. In this most recent apparent act of terror against UCLA, the extremists have crossed yet another threshold and directed violence at individuals and property not associated with animal research.

Oooh, he issued a statement. That’ll make ’em quake, Geen-o. they won’t destroy taxpayer owned property after that tongue lashing.

Doesn’t he get that these people have been brainwashed to believe that the destruction of vehicles and structures isn’t “violence”?

More than likely, brainwashed by members of his own staff.
