Troofer Radio

We all heard about left wing nutjobess, Randi Rhodes, getting “suspended” from Air America Radio for telling the truth about HRC last week (not so much truth about Ferrarro). Well, it appears that she decided to respond with the “You can’t suspend me, I quit!” line and has resigned from AAR.

While that was worthy of a chuckle, the guffaw-worthy part is that she has wandered on over to the truly far left wing of the radio world and signed up with the barely breathing Nova M Radio network. This does not surprise me in the least, as on the night of her suspension, Troofer Mike Malloy, spent most of his second hour practically making a public plea for Rhodes to come join him on Nova M.

That she ran screaming, hair-on-fire-style, from AAR and into the arms of the absolute fringiest section of talk radio also doesn’t surprise me.

What did surprise me was that Sir Ad-Hom, Sam Seder, who had been filling in for Rhodes the week before her suspension while she was on vacation, and then filled in during her suspension, isn’t likely to get pulled from the minors to take over Rhodes’ permanent spot. Not that he deserves it, but that never stopped AAR from promoting someone.

In a stroke of marketing genius (now that’s a stretch), word has it that they’re going to give Rhodes’s spot to Law & Order SVU actor, Richard Belzer, to try on for size next week.

While he has a face for radio, I can’t even listen to him deliver his lines on TV, going all the way back to his stand up days. I cannot see being able to stand him during my drive time commute.

Time to mix up some new CD’s this weekend.
