So, yeah, there is this story going around the intertubes about Seattle Democrats booing the suggestion of saying the pledge of allegiance at a delegate procedure.
Why is this news? Is anyone here really surprised by this revelation?
Let me tell you a little story: Between 9th and 10th grades, my family moved from Podunk-burg, WA. to somewhere that is actually considered a suburb of Seattle, though it is one of the more distant burbs.
My first day in class at the new high school, I was surprised by the lack of the morning recitation of the Pledge. I asked the teacher at the end of class and was told that they hadn’t recited the pledge in years.
My best guess is that the 43rd District Dems couldn’t remember the words and didn’t want to be embarrassed in front of the local media. So instead, they decided to try and out-Berkeley Berkeley, and just act all hateful.
Oddly enough, none of these local left wing blogs have written one word about it.
My daughter’s school recites the Pledge in first english and then in spanish……
