Yes, he was a criminal

But he’s also a local legend and news such as this is still pretty big

A parachute that could belong to famous hijacker D.B. Cooper has been found and is being analyzed by the FBI in Seattle. The Cooper case has been surrounded by mystery since 1971, when he jumped from a Northwest Orient Airlines Boeing 727 with a bag of money containing $200,000 ransom.

The parachute, which the FBI said is the same type that was used by Cooper, was found between the Clark County towns of Ariel and Amboy, near the center of the original jump zone, according to KOIN News 6.

I am of the minority of locals who is positive that “D.B. Cooper” died that dark November night. My reasoning for this is that there are multiple reports about the type and make of his chute, it was simply not rated for a man with 600 pound testicles.

    There’s something fishy here, hoss.

The kids who “found” the ‘chute say it was part buried in the mud, and they cut the risers to bring the canopy home, and NOW CAN’T REMEMBER WHERE THEY FOUND IT!

I dunno about you, but when I was a yute, and found something interesting in the woods, I was ALWAYS able to go back to the original spot, and so were all the other kids I played around with.

Just doesn’t sound right to me.
