I held off

On posting about this fairy tale that nearly the entire leftosphere posted about yesterday in their effort to make sure the Fool-Aid drinking cultists don’t stop believing.

A chunk of Antarctic ice about seven times the size of Manhattan suddenly collapsed, putting an even greater portion of glacial ice at risk, scientists said Tuesday.Satellite images show the disintegration of a 160-square-mile chunk in western Antarctica that started Feb. 28. It was the edge of the Wilkins ice shelf and has been there for hundreds of years, maybe 1,500.

This is the result of global warming, said British Antarctic Survey scientist David Vaughan.

I’m not going to question Vaughan’s intelligence, but I do wonder just a little bit about his integrity.

He surely must know that the ice sheet he’s talking about flows like a river into the Antarctic ocean. He must also surely know that it is possible that the sheet was just too large for the pivot point where it connects to the terra firm to hold on to; The pivot being either too thin or the sheet too thick or a combination of the two.

Is this a big thing? Sure. Newsworthy even. Does it mean much? Nope. It is simply something we non-Global Warming Death Cultists call: Nature. (hit that link)

Look it up, Vaughan.

Speaking of the Cultists, nearly a foot of snow fell in the eastern side of King County last night, bringing out the call of “Weather Isn’t Climate!” across the local portion of the leftosphere. I’ll have to be reminding them of that quote come July, I’m sure.

Oddly enough, large portion of the rest of the county and the two counties north and south of King also got coated with the white stuff, though the urban Seattle Metro area was spared the horror.

Using the Global Warming Death Cultist’s logic, I am only to conclude that urban areas cause Global Warming. With this understanding, light suburban and rural property owners should see a rise in the value of their property as the city dwellers flee for their lives.

Or, it could just also have been the Rain Shadow caused by the Olympic Mountain Range working in Seattle’s favor.
