A Question

Is this disgusting or what?

Found at the AoSHQ

OK, actually two questions: How much beer does one have to drink to believe this would have been a good idea?

OK, actually three questions: Hey Joe, how much Boomerite would it take to do this, could it all be set off with a single rifle shot and would you do so if given the chance?

Damn, five questions.

Now that’s hillarious. When it first started, my first thought was “I know I haven’t seen Paul Linnman in 15 years (since I moved from PDX) but he shouldn’t be aging backwards”

    Funny stuff.

Well, 20 cases of rock powder is hard to match in Boomerite, and you’d want to be far enough away that a .50BMG would be required to set it off.

    Not doable, IMHO.

Start with a dead salmon and a couple ounces just for drill.

  3. Joe Huffman says:

Pound for pound Boomerite is not much different from what they used. So about 1000 pounds (which is less than what we typically use at Boomershoot). A single rifle bullet would detonate it just fine. If you are using a high BC bullet in a .300 Win Mag (or “better”) 1000 yards distant would be possible.

I get requests to blow up all kinds of things. I usually agree to help on one condition–they have to clean up the mess.

I almost never hear from them again. This would be no different. The common perception appears to be that when something is “blown up” it just disappears. Of course this isn’t true. Explosives can rip things into very tiny pieces and scatter them but chemical explosives do not destroy matter.
