A Break in the Action

Tomorrow is my birthday, wherein I’ll be 12 years old (with 24 years experience).

As The Mom and The Wife have plans for lunches and trips to Cabelas with me, I’ll probably be shortchanging y’all tomorrow, post-wise.

But if I may direct your attention to The Autoblog, there is a whole days worth of reading and ogling there with the reporting from the 2008 Detroit Auto Show.

My personal favorite so far is the diesel V12 monster from Audi. 500+hp and 738ft lbs. 0-60 in 4.2 and is at 186mph in full spin. All that and it gets 23mpg on pump diesel.

OK, cold shower time, and I’ll be back with tunage and more on The Day of Thurs.

One of the reasons that I am jealous of the Euro’s is there love and plethora of great diesel engines. I would love to have nothing more than a Audi A8l with the twin turbo v8 diesel power plant. The MB CDI is not too shabby either, being that it get better mileage than the Prius in a cross county trip because hybrids suck at freeway speeds (okay I have lost the link for proof so it is just hearsay for now). Also beat the record for getting to 100,000 miles (just under a month at an average speed of 139.699mph including the 10 stops for mileage maintenance and more for fueling and driver changes with almost 40mpg average!) http://www.gizmag.com/go/4003/

Hey! Exactly a week before mine. (Well, actually 1 year and 51 weeks after, but who’s being pedantic?)

    Happy Birthday!

Oh, and Happy Birthday as well. This is why I do not have a blog because I lose sight of the original thought too easily. Oh, something shiny. . .

    Anyway, have a better one.
