Thank you

Washington State Teacher’s Union.

I just don’t know what to say after hearing this news

A middle school principal is still collecting his $8,245-a-month salary from the Tacoma School District as he awaits sentencing on a third-degree rape conviction.

Harold Wright Jr. remains on paid administrative leave while district officials “address the issue of his employment,” spokeswoman Leanna Albrecht said Thursday.

The district can’t simply fire him or alter his leave status without “due process,” she added.

District officials did, however, file a complaint against Wright with the state Office of Professional Practices, a division of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, said Nathan Olson, a spokesman for the agency.

The complaint, received in Olympia on Thursday, could result in the revocation of Wright’s teaching and administrative credentials. Wright was placed on paid administrative leave Feb. 9 from his $98,940-a-year job as principal of Baker Middle School.

Schools officials expected Wright’s resignation Monday, four days after a Pierce County Superior Court jury convicted him of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman three years ago.

Actually, I think I would just like to say a hearty “Funk You” to the union for writing into the contracts that if the convicted school employee doesn’t resign, they can stay on the payroll until the district can file enough paperwork to get the union to stop representing them.

As a principal, are you sure he’s still represented by the union? I though Principals were considered in the school district’s executive, and were classified employees, not union members.

ok i get the outrage about him still geting paid, but the bigger outrage is why the hell is a principal geting ~100k per year! and they have the balls to complain about low pay. WTF over.
