 It seems that House Majority Leader, Harry Reid (Dumbass – NV), wants to shove the Immigration “Compromise†through the Senate as soon and with as few added amendments as possible, which is very appreciated by Senator Jon Kyl (Retard-AZ).
Yesterday they debated it into the night with one of the casualties being the last little bit of common sense that the Senate may have had.
The defeated amendment, proposed by Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), would have permanently barred many convicted felons — including sex offenders, gang members and repeat drunk drivers — from qualifying to become legal permanent residents.
Supporters of the bill said, however, the amendment was written so loosely that it also would have barred those guilty of other felonies, such as violating deportation orders or using false identification documents. That, they said, would have applied to a huge number of illegal immigrants.
It lost 51-46. Those 51 Senators should seriously look at themselves. Any immigrant who comes here legally and defies a court order or commits a felony gets his visa yanked. Yet these Senators, in their rush to slip a piece of shitty legislation under the noses of the American people before they smell it, would create a different set of rules for those whom we already know are willing to disregard federal law.
You can find out if your Senators are on the list of folks who voted to allow known criminals to gain citizenship here. Give them a ringy-dingy, let them know how you feel about their decision. Likewise, if they voted for it, let them know you appreciate their vote.
