I’ve mentioned the Front Site Firearms Training Institute multiple times in the past, especially during the string of Boston T. Party “Quotes of the Day” run. They are one of the premier schools for practical firearms training on the North American continent.
They have set up an advertizing campaign somewhat akin to Googlebombing, wherein bloggers who post a patch of HTML on their blogs (as seen below) will be given a free course of their choice of Practical Rifle, Select-Fire M16, Defensive Handgun, Tactical Shotgun, or a Uzi Submachine Gun. (Personally, I think The Hun Bastard and I would have a blast at the Practical Rifle course)

Found at the Anarchangel and which has become somewhat of a bit of a controversy.
You are correct in that it’s valuable training, but you also have to transport yourself to Vegas to get it. For the price of TWO tanks of gas, you could have transported yoursef to Lebanon, OR, site of the Oregon Firearms Academy, and gotten the same training from the same quality experts.
Oh, and you wouldn’t have had to participate in demonstrating a weak side to the world, either.
Back when I was copping, I had several arrestees try to bribe me over the years. They would usually say something like, “Everyone has their price.” I would smile, and agree with them, “Yes, you’re right, everyone DOES have their price, but YOU, asshole, couldn’t begin to come up with the money for mine.”
My Itegrity Rule: Never reveal your price until that time as you want everyone to know it also. For me, that time is probably when I have 5 people left to kill with my rifle, and only 3 rounds left. I might try to sell myself to the last two.
