The Soundboard: Goin’ Etheral

At least a little bit. Work IT dweebies have cut off 90% of this here interweb from our PC’s with some nasty software that won’t even let me see the Good Ship RNS on my lunch, which should account for lack of responses in the comments and lack of items to post about lately.

They have also cut me off from my internet radio station, which should be considered at least a misdemeanor, if not a high crime. But I have been making up for it by listening to the tunage I already own. The CD Player still works, at least until the dweebies tell me that Windoze Media Player takes up too much chip time or some BS.

So, here we go with an example of some of the stuff I’ve been listening to as of late.

From Part 2 of the series that the past couple weeks of tunage has been pulled from

Inside My Soul – Logistics (Friction & Nu Balance Remix)

———-

Found here, again with some kickass cover art.

And as I’ve said before, I will be owning all the Hospital Records discs in short order and if you like this and the other tunage as of late, you should too. I haven’t found a bad one yet.

  1. Rivrdog says:

To counteract the dweebs, a few suggestions:

    1. If you have the desk space, bring an old desktop to work that will run a wireless card. Downside: have to subscribe to a wireless card, $60/month.

    2. For a few more bucks, bucko, buy a laptop and do the same as #1.

    3. If the monthlies are too big, try either #1 or #2 with a dialup, if the dweebs will spare you a phone line to use it on.

    4. Get an internet-ready phone. For the usual phone bill plus $45/mo, I have my phone-pda and broadband access which is good enough to stream music with (in fact this is how I go to sleep sometimes). I have a set of Radio Schack portable speakers which run off their own batteries ($15) to amplify the music to bedside level.

As you can see, the solution is going to require you to be able to receive your own broadband.

Or just say fukit, and take your own tunage to work and play it on their computer.
