You’re welcome for the propaganda, citizen

One of the biggest jokes the left likes to play is when they cry, bitch, moan and wail about the “Right Wing Corporate Media”.

The same media that howls for gun control after like what happened at Virginia Tech.

Or, the same media that takes it’s cues from AlGore

Al Gore has complained that the media are biased against the inconvenient truth of global warming. “I believe that is one of the principal reasons why political leaders around the world have not yet taken action,” Gore told a “Media Ethics Summit” at Middle Tennessee State University back in February. Gore lectured journalists that any coverage of views opposed to his own was irresponsible, calling it “balance as bias.”

It’s impossible to imagine the big TV networks actually accepting an edict from a conservative politician to report only their side of a major public policy issue, but a new Media Research Center study of ABC, CBS and NBC’s global warming coverage finds the networks are giving Gore practically everything he demanded. Not only does nearly every global warming story exclude any contrary voices, but the coverage of Al Gore personally has been exceptionally positive as well.

MRC analysts examined all 115 news stories that dealt with global warming from January 1 through April 15 on NBC’s Today, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS’s The Early Show. These morning news programs had a combined audience of more than 13 million during the first three months of 2007. Unlike the networks’ evening newscasts, the two- and three-hour morning shows have longer segments that should (in theory) make it easier to include multiple points of view on controversial topics. But MRC’s analysts found just four stories out of 115 (just over 3%) contained any mention of dissent from Gore’s approach to global warming — and even those stories were heavily stacked in favor of his “climate crisis” position.

Or, the same media that edits photos to try and scare up as much fear as possible on the subject.

Yes, I see Karl Rove’s hand in all of this. He’s a manipulator, you know!

And in case you missed it last week (not all that difficult, what with that Rovian Media Blackout), Canada is giving serious thought to pulling out of Kyoto. (link found at CQ)

This week’s announcement by the Canadian government — that it may join a U.S.-led coalition focused on voluntary emissions cuts — could be part of a global shift away from Kyoto’s binding targets.

In a somewhat surprising development, Canada, a long-time supporter of the Kyoto Protocol, announced that it may want to join the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (AP6), a six-nation coalition focusing on voluntary emission-reduction steps and technology transfers.

Notice the end of that last sentence: “Technology Transfers”. Right now, the technology to reduce emmissions without reducing productivity is non-existant. This bothers the Kyoto-Worshippers very little, as they could care less whether or not productivity (and the jobs and communities that are tied to them) suffers, so long as they get their pretty emmissions numbers.

They sometimes try to turn in around and say that the market will created by Kyoto will drive the creation of this technology, but this is a crock of shit for two reasons: 1. The leftists do not believe in “The Market”, and 2. The wheel was neccessary technology, but the need for it did not drive it’s creation any faster.

We will discover the technology sometime, but 1st world nations should not be made to suffer and transfer their wealth to 3rd world nations while we wait.

Which is why this idea is opposed

Many environmentalists oppose AP6 out of a fear that it may undermine political support for the legally binding Kyoto treaty.

They oppose it because they’re idiots and zealots. Remember their motto: No compromise. Ever.
