Yet another range report

Which is always a good thing (I’m referring to Dirtcrashr’s range report linked below by David)

Mugwug of the MoralFlexibility blog went to the range with a-soon-to-not-be-his CZ52 (which was one of the things I was looking for at the gun show this weekend), as well as with a S&W Model 14 he recently required (that looks exactly like the one I own, down to the custom wood grip panels).

If you scroll all the way to the bottom, he’s got some video of the VZ52 flamethrower. Muy Kewl!

The Russ never cared about any problems from overpenetration of the tiny, but very fast, round.

This caliber has “go through the goblin and the next three walls” written all over it. They have close to the speed of the M-1 carbine.

The pistol is a fine one. Too bad it can’t be chambered in a more modern round with a larger bullet.

It’s a nifty little handgun to be sure, I picked that one up as part of the trade for my .308 FrankenGarand (Got a VZ58 and the CZ52 in trade for her) and I’ve had trouble sourcing 7.62x25mm ever since.

I think the fact that I’ve owned her for over a year, and this is the first time I’ve actually put a round through her speaks volumes as to the availability of the ammo up here.

That said, no firearm is going to pass through my collection without me giving it a try, and this one was certainly entertaining at the range. The accuracy issue is undoubtedly me, but what can you do when you’ve got 20-25 rounds to play with.

    Meh.

Having a hard time finding any history on the Model 14, it’s a fantastic revolver and I’m very pleased with it’s addition to my collection.

Any suggestions as to good online (or printed) sources of information on it?

    Cheers!
