As can be guessed by the YouTube stuff below, yesterday was my first viewing of the movie “300” (finally).
I have to say that I’m a bit confused; Everyone said it was along the lines of “hyper-violent”, but from what I saw, it was no more violent than it needed to be, and I could have actually done with a bit more.
I don’t know, maybe it was the 15 Russian kids in the theater acting like nuisances for part of the movie that made me want to commit a few violent acts which bent the calibration of my “Necessary Violence-O-Meter”, or maybe I just had my standards set too high?
Either way, I’m looking for a Director’s Cut of some sort to really just knock my socks off.
When “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” hit theaters I saw it two to three times a weekend for the four weeks it was in the theaters. I may go back and see “300” one more time, but I’m sure it’ll be out on DVD by this summer, so I may just wait.
Still, a damn good flick, just maybe too much hype from the media.
