Socialism Causes Global Warming!

What other excuse caould account for the melting ice caps in the North Atlantic, heat waves in Western Europe and China; all the while the Pacific Ice is melting much slower and the Antarctic is actually getting thicker?

This has to be due to the lower total amount of Socialism in America and the former Soviet Union. Yes, Canada tosses a wrench into the mix, but it is at least as good a theory as any of the Global Warming Death Cultists have come up with.

Especially when you add this story into the equation:

NORTH KOREA BADLY HIT BY GLOBAL WARMING

North Korea had been badly hit by global warming, a North Korean official said, reflecting that the reclusive country was no exception in being affected by abnormal climatic phenomena.

The director of the Central Meteorological Institute of the DPRK (North Korea), Ryu Ki-ryol, said that in recent years the temperature in the North had risen two or three times the global average in the 20th century, according to the (North) Korean Central News Agency on March 23.

On the occasion of World Meteorological Day, Ryu said: “The high atmospheric pressure formed in the Sea of Okhotsk brought cold to the east coast of DPRK in recent years.” The Sea of Okhotsk is northeast of North Korea.

It compelled the institute to intensify research into the polar areas, where global warming has been observed more, apparently with a great temperature disparity, he said.

Global warming has been on the rise around the world in recent years due to greenhouse gas emissions, including carbonic acid gas.

Earlier, the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) decided to set “Polar meteorology: understanding global impacts” as its theme for 2007.

The Cabinet organ Minju Joson said North Korea, a member state of the WMO, will strengthen international cooperation to prevent natural disasters on a global scale.

North Korea, which entered the WMO in 1975, has suffered severe flooding and droughts since the mid-1990s.

The Il family’s horribly regressive form of socialism (aka: Nork Communism) has to be held accountable for the problem. Notice that relatively free South Korea, right below them and actually closer to the equator, faces none of the problems the Norks do.

I’ve got a theory, and I’m sticking to it!

So you really think that pumping all this toxic crap into the air isn’t doing anything harmful to the earth? I’m far from being a Leftie, but come on. If it’s toxic and spreading into the air, earth, water, etc. it’s BAD. It dosen’t just disappear. Anyone with a scientific background can tell you that. Or are you more of the belief that it’s someone elses problem (quoting the great Douglas Adams).

  2. AnalogKid says:

Particulate emmissions, being heavier than air, fall to earth sooner or later (remember acid rain?), so yes, they do do damage.

But, that is no reason for the restriction of the citizenry or of business. You set standards that can be met with current technology and then industry will take care of the rest (R&D, marketting, etc.).

When some punk tells me that I have to take the bus to work to lower my “carbon footprint” (a bullshit idea if I’ve ever heard one), I make sure to drive even more (yes, even at $3 a gallon) or drive a vehicle that pollutes even more.

I’m not one to be told what to do.

  3. Bill says:

Wow! I am amazed that there are people in the world that don’t even want to try to be part of the solution. You even admit that you have no problem poluting more.

I cannot even fathom the mentality of people that not only want to fuck themselves up, but ruin things for people around them. This is a reason why society can’t move forward any faster.

  4. AnalogKid says:

Once again, Bill, you misread what I wrote. It is not that I don’t want to be a part of a “solution” (especially since neither you nor your Global Warming Death Cult Messiahs do not have one), it is that I do not want any “solution” your Messiahs have thought up to be legislated. Your side of the argument wants everything to slow down/shut down all industrial progress until this all gets sorted out (which it never will, if your Messiahs have any say in the matter).

Your Messiahs want us to run the country on some kind of magic pixie dust that doesn’t cause an ounce of pollution. If a zero-pollutant energy source existed, I’d say use it in a heartbeat. However, it doesn’t, so we can’t. If you would like to join us here in the real world where everything needs to be manufactured and people need jobs, then we can talk. But if you are going to stay in the “magical realm of green-dreamers” we have nothing to talk about.

My own personal favorite idea of a commuter vehicle is one that I can plug into the wall of my garage once a week. However, I’ve not got the time or the money to take the necessary courses in electrical theory to build it myself, so someone (a corporation) is going to have to build it for me. If they build one for me, they are going to have build a few hundred thousand (or more) of them in order to keep the costs down, never mind that a few hundred thousand (or more) other people are going to want one.

But here is the kicker, Bill: Due to your favored “Leaders” and their very effective strategy of denying us the ability to expand our electric output, our electrical grid could not take a few hundred thousand (or more) people plugging their cars in. Brown-outs would be common place and the hassle of scheduling when you could cook a hot meal wouldn’t be worth the gas saving vehicles.

But, since your Global Warming Death Cult “man-made” fretting isn’t actually true, and your like-minded utopists have succeeded in limiting our infrastructure to the point of handicapping our ability to fully function, maybe you could enlighten me as to exactly what the “solution” is? Try and be original, because I’ve heard just about all of the examples they’ve come up with so far.

Btw, this would be easier if you were at least brave enough to leave a functioning email addy. I don’t mind if you want to go on some 200 e-mail long discussion of how you’re right and I’m wrong, I’m game; though you should be prepared to question your belief system and the lies you have been spoon-fed since you was a youngin’.

Don’t worry, the world isn’t going to end. And if it was, it would already be too late. Hell, for all you know, the vehicle I plan on taking to the local “Earth Day” celebrations could be the tipping point between a normal climate and “Global Cooling”.

Remember that giggle, Bill? That one was a hoot!

  5. Bill says:

First of all, I do not belong to the Global Warming Death Cult Messiahs. I’m more concerned about toxins in the air, soil, and water. I work in a field where I measure the quality of this stuff and it’s a lot worse than what people hear on the local news. And the recent pet food poisoning issue — another tip of the iceberg moment.

So yes, I do believe the people of the world are polluting more and we need to control it. Stopping it all together is the goal and is being worked on. But no, I don’t think all manufacturing should slow down or stop, but the amount of pollutants created need to be controlled or we are all going to get sicker. You may not see this in your local area, but it is happening in other parts of the world.

I don’t have a magic solution other than individuals taking action to reduce their own waste. Recycle used motor oil, don’t burn stuff when there is a burn ban on, get a car with lower emissions, don’t over fertilize your yard and use organic fertilizer. Small steps that don’t cost a whole lot (if any at all) but help in controlling waste.

It’s totally up to you if you want or don’t want to believe scientific reports coming out. Me? I’d rather error on the side of caution and have a safe place to live than be wrong and have to deal with making sure anything I consume doesn’t have toxins in it. The cost of being wrong is far greater than the cost of prevention right now.

I do want to stress that this isn’t a political issue to me. I don’t care if you’re Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Communist, or Socialist. Pollution is pollution and reducing it will make people healthier. Bottom line. I would like to hear from you exactly how “your like-minded utopists have succeeded in limiting our infrastructure to the point of handicapping our ability to fully function” because all I seem to read is you complaining that everything isn’t fair. I don’t read a lot of how you are trying to change things if you think you are right.

The only thing I can find in your last past is that taking the bus to work is a bullshit idea. So moving 50 people in one vehicle (some of which run on natural gas or electricity) is the same or worse than 50 people in their own cars? That is an asinine statement and you know it. Public transportation doesn’t work for all areas, but in high density places where large groups of people need to get to a central location they are currently the best solution. Perfect, no. But the best that exists right now.

Yes the world isn’t going to end. But civilization can die off or we can make the Earth so toxic that we can’t survive here anymore. Or we can survive but we’re so diseased that life spans are reduced. I get the sense that you only care for yourself and everyone else can fuck off.
