All pupils to be given lessons in climate change

Children will be put on the front line of the battle to save the planet under radical proposals to shake up the way that geography is taught in schools.

The plans, to be published on Monday, will ensure that, for the first time, issues such as climate change and global warming are at the heart of the school timetable. Pupils will also be taught to understand their responsibilities as consumers – and weigh up whether they should avoid travel by air to reduce CO2 emissions and shun food produce imported from the other side of the world because of its impact on pollution.

I read through this at the leftist jabber-site, AmericaBlog, thinking this was going on here.

It took me not recognizing any of the names of the officals to check the link and see that this story was published in the UK Independant.

So the Brit government is going to brainwash their kids with this crap. Meanwhile, the Islamic world wants them dead or subservient.

Good choice, England. Nice way to keep your priorities straight.

You MAY hold your breath, for that is as long as it will take for this boneheaded priority to assert itself in our boneheaded public school system.

I’m thinking that it would be better to teach reading, writing, mathematics, critical reasoning skills, and sciences. School is (should be) a foundation, Give the kids a toolbox of fundemental skills and they can examine the questions of the world and arrive at their own conclusions.

This is whay our schools are in such a mess–and as a result, the future of our country is less bright than it should be.
