Indianopolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy’s Anti-Gay Agenda
To all you Colts fans out there, know that your team’s head coach is on board with the radical anti-homosexual agenda. Atrios links to the AOL Sports Blog, which reports that Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy will headline an event for the Indiana Family Institute, an anti-gay pack of homo-hatin’ hoosiers.

Um. Tony Dungy is a very much out of the closet Christian Conservative. This bombshell is supposed to surprise whom exactly?
If I had no horse in this race (pardon the pun)I would have to support the Colts just for the heck of it after this bit of “news.” Besides, most times when I see a group described as anti-homosexual, it generally means that they are more along the lines of anti-anti-heterosexual.
In any case, I was born and raised 45 miles due north of the Hoosier Dome (I don’t care who they sold out to, I’m not calling it the “RCA” {shudder} dome. It was the Hoosier Dome when the taxpayers built it and it is still the Hoosier Dome to me) so, of course, I’ll be rooting for the home team. Go Colts.
Actually, I should have said that Tony Dungy is an “Evangelical Christian” rather than “Christian Conservative”. Saying “conservative” connotates his political philosophy upon which I am unqualified to comment.
When I said “Christian Conservative” I meant that he adheres to the more conservative interpretation of the Christian Faith…you know…the one that says “…neither the sexually immoral nor idolators nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Wow, I just found a reason to actually give a damn about the Super Bowl. I don’t even care about football that much, as I consider its modern incarnation to be less of a game and more of human sides of beef (both have the same muscle mass and brain power) smashing into each other. But add the Superbowl phenomenon and I have less reason to care, with lame half-time shows involving washed-up preformers who may occassionally expose themselves and lots of lots of television ads competeing for which one gets to waste my time even more. But now they’re trying to politisize the football teams?! Wow. I didn’t give a damn for either team playing (no Texas teams, and then only I cheer as a matter of state pride), now I gotta say “Go Colts!” if the liberals are deciding to root for da Bears because the opposite team’s coach doesn’t like gays. Sheesh. I mean, if the guy was *really* anti-gay, don’t you think he’d be involved with some other sport that doesn’t involve huge, muscled men wearing tight outfits, slapping each other’s butts and getting in big dogpiles on the field, and hanging around locker rooms when not on the field?
