My only guess is that the citizens of this country had “World Opinion” dropped on them from the bench when I read these two latest decisions.

First up: The American taxpayer HAS TO give Katrina ‘victims’ more money

On Wednesday, a federal judge said the Bush administration must immediately resume housing payments for thousands of people displaced by the hurricane, heaping more criticism on the government for its handling of the 2005 disaster.

U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon’s ruling sharply criticized the Federal Emergency Management Agency for cutting housing funding and subjecting storm victims to a convoluted application process he called “Kafkaesque.”

Approximately 150 years ago, the federal response to a disaster that mirrors what happened to the gulf states was to send the Army down there to SELL tents to those affected.

In 2006, we have to GIVE them houses.

Next up: Locking up the funds of terrorist supporting groups is a no-no

A federal judge struck down President Bush’s authority to designate groups as terrorists, saying his post-Sept. 11 executive order was unconstitutionally vague, according to a ruling released Tuesday.

The Humanitarian Law Project had challenged Bush’s order, which blocked all the assets of groups or individuals he named as “specially designated global terrorists” after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

“This law gave the president unfettered authority to create blacklists,” said David Cole, a lawyer for the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Constitutional Rights that represented the group. “It was reminiscent of the McCarthy era.”

The Center for Constitutional Rights would know all about the “McCarthy Era”. The spawn of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg is employed there.

We’re not arresting anyone until a full investigation takes place. All that is happening is that certain groups who are publically known to fund groups that blow up women and children are having their assests tied up.

I thought the left wanted us to go after the terrorists using the judicial system and not “The Army System”? I guess they really don’t.
