I don’t know how truthful ‘ol Rudy is being here, but the information in this David Postman article could prove to be a deciding factor if/when Rudy runs in 2008.

Giuliani drops support for assault-weapon ban

I’m a little behind on this, but Josh Feit got something interesting when Rudy Giuliani was in town for Mike McGavick. Feit asked the former New York mayor about the assault-weapon ban, and Giuliani said he has changed his mind and no longer supports it.

The link to Feit’s article contains more than your average amount of anti-gun hyperbole and I don’t suggest you click on it unless you need a laugh today.

But the fact that Giuliani has supposedly changed his stance on this issue shows, at least on the surface, that hopefuls for the (R) nomination for President know where their loyalties on this issue need to stand.

  1. Steve says:

As a person, I respect Rudy Giuliani.

    As a presidential candidate, I think he’s Hillary’s bitch.

  2. Brass says:

I’ve always said that the only way rudy could get the Republican nomination is if he divorced himself from either his stand on abortion, gays or firearms. Looks like he picked one.
