The Soundboard: When old is new again

In 04 Rush put out an EP disc of cover tunes called “Feedback”. I had put it on my list of things to buy and finally got around to it a few weeks back.

I was pleasantly surprised by the choices, seeing as how I had wondered what tunes from their teenage years the guys liked and, to a lesser extent, what would Rush sound like doing other people’s music.

One the whole, It is a good album, but not a great one. Mostly because they’re not Rush songs. Geddy’s voice isn’t really suited to covering “Crossroads” and I never really like The Who’s “The Seeker”.

But one of the songs I thought turned out really well was their cover of The Yardbirds’ “Heart Full of Soul”.

So take a listen and let everyone know what you think
