From RNS reader and blogger at the TargetRichEnvironment blog, Steve, comes news that the State of Delaware is going to be celebrating “National Child Support Month” by giving away free paternity tests!

Shantasia Binaird of the New Castle area wants her 4-year-old son to know who his father is — without any doubt — no matter what role the man ultimately plays in his boy’s life.

That’s why the 21-year-old said she and her son’s father hope to be among the first to sign up for a limited program of free paternity tests that state officials said Tuesday will be offered in all three counties.

Mouth-swab DNA tests will be offered Sept. 18 to 22 at Division of Child Support Enforcement offices in all three counties, in connection with National Child Support Month, said Charles E. Hayward, director of the Division of Child Support Enforcement.

I wonder if they’ll be doing those suspenseful reveals?

BTW, Steve has some useful things to say about the mothers while counselling the kids, but I’m sure that he be willing to take other suggestions.

I’d have to say that Delaware has WAAAAY to much money in their Support Enforcement budget if they can give away tests that cost almost $2,000 each, just to try to troll up some business.

Were I a Father’s Rights activist there, I would be tempted to get some people together to sign up for the tests, people who had no relation to each other, just to use up their fat budget and teach them a lesson about how it is NOT nice to try to troll up life-wrecking legal challenges.

Soooo….this brood sow was seventeen when she got knocked up by err..ummmm… someone, and she doesn’t know exactly who? I’ll bet a dollar against a hole in a doughnut she’s on welfare. Maybe there should be a string or two attached to that money.

String 1: Before another check is cut, she gets sterilized.
String 2: She gets welfare for the same length of time she’d get unemployment benefits and has to qualify the same way. In other words, there’s an incentive to get off her back and into a job.
