RNS Rules

Yesterday, the RNS Server Savior, Craig at MTPolitics, felt the need to point out “Da Rules” of MTPolitics.

Let it herby be known that for no particular reason other than I think they’re good, I am co-opting them for “Da Rules” at RNS.

Because there ain’t no nothing about not being able to borrow “Da Rules” included in “Da Rules”.

They are below the fold and there will be a link to them on the sidebar in short order.

1. I pay for the bandwidth and hosting, which makes this blog my property.

2. You don’t have a “right” to comment.

3. You don’t have a “right” to privacy when you’re utilizing a server that I pay for. That means IP addresses, etc. are all logged, and if I feel like it, I may use it. Further, any email you send me may be subject to being publicly posted, mocked, and ridiculed.

4. If you think I’m stifling your voice, you’re wrong. Go here or here or … well, you get the point.

5. I reserve the right to edit or delete your comments, should I find them offensive.

6. I reserve the right to be arbitrary and capricious. If you think you’ve been treated unfairly, you may be right, and you can certainly appeal my decision. I don’t know where that would be, but knock yourself out.

7. Showing up out of nowhere to pimp your own blog in my comments section is bad form.

8. I’m a small “c” conservative. This means that I have my own views and my own ideas, that (gasp!) might actually differ from the Bush administration. I know that might be hard to comprehend, but there you go.

9. Thus, when you’re arguing with me, don’t set up a straw man based upon what you assume my position is.

10. If you send email to the address listed on this page, I will consider that implicit permission to publish that email.

11. What? You think I’m biased? Well, duh. My job is to present my side of the argument. Your job is to present yours.

Have at ’em! I think someone else stole them a while back, and if memory serves, I probably stole them from someone else. 🙂
