Catching Up

Howdy! How’s it going? It’s been a while.

Let’s see…where to begin?

Well, back a little over two weeks ago we were invaded by some script-kiddies masquerading as islamo-hackers, and their subesquent follow-up attacks kept the place shut off to the outside world for a bit, as you saw. I did what I could, but because I’m not trained or suited for that type of work I had to wait until a professional had some time available.

As most of you know, Craig at MTPolitics basically got the place set up with WordPress back in January. Unfortunately, he had already begun moving his family from one side of the state of Montana to the other when the invasion took place. While I did my best to stave off the follow-up attacks, the only reason you can read this now is because of Craig and his hard work.

For that, I thank him most humbly. He made it look so easy that I could slap my forehead for the next couple weeks. I knew the force was strong with him.

We’re currently looking at the who, what, where and how to see that it doesn’t happen again. But, if it does, be sure that I’m not just going to close the place down and let it rot. I’ll quit this when I want to, not when some cocksmoking tiddlywink tries to make me.

During the two weeks we were gone, I went just a little *twa-ang* what with not having an outlet to vent, and finally found myself asking SondraK, Headmistress for the Knowledge is Power Blog for a login to let some words fly.

And for her letting me post there, I am quite grateful. She has agreed to leave me a log-in there, jic. So if you little hateful bastards who tried to close down the Good Ship RNS are reading, you can’t shut me up. If you hit us again, I can just go over to KisP (where I’ll get two to three times the traffic, btw).

BTW, you can see the posts I did over thar here, here, here, and here.

And last, but certainly not least, I am very thankful for all the emails from you folks in the outside world, asking how it was going.

I have always said that I do this for me. I don’t care if I have ten visitors or ten thousand. That is why I don’t have a hit counter and rarely check my stats. My $400 a year to run this place is pretty damn cheap therapy, if you ask me.

But it was quite humbling to see the number of folks wondering how we were doing. Thankee all, it was appreciated.

So, what else have I been doing with my spare time besides erasing clogs of referral spam, you ask?

Let’s see: the wife and I bought new living room furniture; got some cherry tomato plant starts from the Analog Mom; bought and assembled a new bed for the spare bedroom; bought a used fridge & freezer for the garage to keep the Cokes, Beers and Beef cold; I bought another older Ford truck that I’ll be introducing in a couple weeks (his name is Fred); bought a couple long guns and rebought a handgun I never should have sold.

Just keeping the economy moving.

Oh yeah, I said yesterday that there’d be “musical accompaniment”, didn’t I? Well, the FTP server is acting up, so that’ll have to wait for now. But we’ll get caught up sooner than later on that subject.

So, what’s been going on with youse guyz?

Great to have you back. I moved out of PRKalifornia to Colorado, and when I got here you were not in service…. I didn’t know where else to look either…

As far as the little hacker punks…. kick a** and take names….

Glad you’re back AK, no mercy, no forgiveness, no stopping…

Really good to read your thoughts on a daily basis again. Not that I agree with every single thing you write, (most, but not all) but I missed sitting here shaking my head and laughing with your quirky sense of humor.
The Olympian was (is) getting pathetic.

Welcome Back! You were missed in the cyberworld struggling for sanity. I sent messages asking about the cyberterror attack on your blog to Michelle Malkin, Ace of Spades, Blackfive, Wizbang to name a few. I hope the cockroaches get the stomping they deserve, as in the picture you posted above.
