Creating Headlines

After the countless horror stories from Canadian and UK socialized medicine programs, it is pretty much a given that I believe anyone who thinks that it is better for people to be given “free” medical coverage as opposed to inspiring people to work for their own health care coverage is a out and out idiot.

So imagine the gathering of my ire when I read this headline:

Panel urges guaranteed health care by 2012

The government should guarantee a core set of health benefits for all Americans by 2012 even if it means raising taxes, a nonpartisan advisory panel created by Congress has recommended.

I’ve read the entire article multiple times and, oddly enough, while it mentions this issue as something that may come up in the November elections, it doesn’t mention any names of the people on this panel.

Seeing as how this was written by Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar of the Los Angeles Times and then republished in a very liberal paper in Seattle, I can only assume that the headline was not written by anyone at Fox News.

I say this because of the words used the headline because, anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that health care itself is covered for ANYONE who wanders their way into ANY hospital.

What they do not say is that the ‘advisory panel’ wants it to be paid for with TAXPAYER DOLLARS.

So, since the ‘professionals’ cannot get the headline issue correct or the story informative, I am going to lend a hand to them. Here is my proposed headline:

‘Analog Kid urges Panel to Kiss His Ass on Healthcare by 2012’

That would get people reading. I have a story to go along with it, but I’ll save that until they send me a request.

Then there’s the Archimedes Project by former (D) Gov. John Kitzhaber of OR. Basically, he wants to establish guaranteed health care and the tax base to support it (on top of the 5th-highest personal taxes in the country).

Here’s the allure of it all for the (D)onks: It makes everyone feel all warm and fuzzy, and you can’t fight against someone’s desire to be HEALTHY now, can you?

It’s all about State control of something, anything, that everyone touches in some way or another.

It’s all about control. If you give up the control of health care from industry to the government, not only will they fuck it up for you (worse than it might be already since the industry is mostly HMOs now), the State will want then to take something else and totally control it. Communications, transportation, who knows, but, again, it will be something big.

That is the nature of Socialism, readers, and socialism is something to be fought as vigorously as radical Islam.

Fight now, while there’s still the possibility of a win, or be ready to live in the cave of social darkness that Socialism will bring/is bringing.
