In my post about the failing of the bill in the Washington State Legislature that would have made large employers like Wal-Mart pay a certain percentage of their payrolls directly to the state government for government health care programs I said “It seems that the worst is over. For now anyway.”
It sure didn’t take them very long to prove me right,
Gov. Chris Gregoire pledged Thursday to pass a “perfected” bill next year mandating health care coverage by large employers, just days after a version aimed squarely at Wal-Mart died at the Legislature.
Clinton going after Microsoft was only about half as idiotic as this.
Washington state Dems are wearing a leather mask and a ball gag.
The unions are holding the whip.
After the legislature in Maryland nailed Wal-Mart with legislation on health care I observed on my web site that the company should close its stores in any state who passes discriminatory laws like this.
After all, there will always be a need for a Wal-Mart in Galt’s Gulch.
That’s just another reason why I’m glad I left Seattle and moved to Idaho.
