I went through the archives and, while I couldn’t find the actual post about my co-worker Dan’s hunting accident that I wrote about yesterday, I was able to find the picture I took of his arm a week and a half after the accident.
But before that, I have a correction to make: Dan was hit on his right hand side, not his left, as can be clearly seen in the pic.
The wounds aren’t looking bad at all by this point, but I wouldn’t be showing the pic to small kids or folks with queay stomachs.
(click for bigger, of course)
In comparison, this is the picture (scroll to the bottom. WARNING: Graphic) that Seattle left-winger Goldy from HorsesAss.Org is using to describe what happened to the guy Cheney shot. Visual hyperbole if I have ever seen it.
One thing I did forget to note yesterday is that Dan retired last summer, so he’s not around for me to ask how he’s doing now. Last I heard he was in AZ soaking up some sun. One thing I wish I could do though, is get a picture of his O/U shotgun to show you the pockmarks in the wood that the incoming #8 shot left in the stock and the dings in the bluing on the barrel.
I’ve seen that pic (the one Goldy used) in school, when I was studying to be an EMT. Dude had a pneumothorax from a close-range shotgun blast.
Wonder where Goldy got it?
