Let’s see – they weren’t prevented from voting by any conspiracy on the part of the vote organizers. Not prevented from voting because US forces shot them as they tried to vote. Not prevented from voting by angry hordes of Shi’a and Kurds extracting retribution for what they suffered under the boots of the Sunni *minority* in power under Saddam. They were prevented from voting by their own stupid “leaders”, who now want to claim disenfranchisement. Well, a lot has been made of the “purple fingers” of the voters. I have a purple finger for the Sunni’s who chose not to participate, and are now crying foul.
