The local leftist radio hosts like it when callers not of their political persuasion call in on the topic of Iraq and Afghanistan vets coming home. They like it because the host always finds a way to somehow manage to steer the conversation to veterans coming home from Vietnam.
Not only do they steer the conversation to that topic, they goad the caller into talking about the vets being spit on and called “Baby Killer”. As soon as the caller does so, they whip out some study done by one of the Berkeley based groups that purports that said namecalling and spitting never happened, discrediting the caller in the eyes of the sycophants in the audience and then hanging up on the caller. This usually followed by the host or a follow-up caller saying “Those lying Reichwingers” or some such crap.
Sadly, there is a true story about a National Guardsman near Camp Murray/Fort Lewis that takes “Baby Killer/spitting” tales to a whole new exterme.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is searching for five people who allegedly attacked a uniformed National Guardsmen walking along 138th Street in Parkland Tuesday afternoon.
The soldier was walking to a convenience store when a sport utility vehicle pulled up alongside him and the driver asked if he was in the military and if he had been in any action.
The driver then got out of the vehicle, displayed a gun and shouted insults at the victim. Four other suspects exited the vehicle and knocked the soldier down, punching and kicking him.
“And during the assault the suspects called him a baby killer. At that point they got into the car and drove off and left him on the side of the road,†Detective Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.
The suspects were driving a black Chevy Suburban-type SUV.
This report must be remembered by folks who really do support the troops, because those that do so in word will do everything in their power to make it become forgotten.

Unusually for the local media, the article neglects to mention that the assailants were all white, and the Guardsman black.
The Lakewood/Parkland/Spanaway/Tacoma (the area in question is actually NE of McChord AFB, south of SR 512) area does have more than it’s share of gangs. Which of them wear red, I don’t know.
These types don’t really seem like typical anti-war ANSWER/MoveOn/KosKid twits. For one, those types don’t drive Suburbans. Two, they don’t own guns.
My guess-these mutants just figured it’d be fun to be up a soldier, make themselves feel big and tough. And they’ll brag about it. When they do, I hope a platoon of off-duty Rangers shows up at their favorite watering hole.

This is why the DUmmies are saying it was a fake attack, because a- what liberal would drive an SUV? and b- what liberal would have a gun? as well as c- what liberal would be violent? Liberals aren’t violent….
C is not a real excuse, as liberals are violent, just in different ways.
The Leftists tend to be violent in ‘safe’ ways-meaning ways which don’t put them in any kind of personnal danger. In other words, they’re violent in cowardly ways.
Mostly this means destruction of property. ELF/ALF is the most famous for this, but local examples abound. Like trying to break down the gates to the Port of Olympia when the Army was loading equipment for Iraq. Breaking into a car because it has a Ft Lewis post sticker on the windshield (nothing was taken.) Keying cars that have “Bush/Cheney” stickers. The list goes on. Of course, they don’t see any of the above as being ‘violent’.
In other words, though this attack required very little in the way of courage, it required more courage than 99.9% of the Leftists in America possess.
